There are many ways you can go about traveling to China. Whether you join a tour, go solo, with a friend, a significant other or a group. You can plan it yourself or buy excursions. Everyone is different and have their own preferences, but that’s exactly why today I’m making the case for why you should consider taking a tour for your first vacation to China. Here are the top 10 reasons you should consider joining a tour for your first time in China!
1) Language Barrier
One of the biggest perks of traveling on a private or group tour to China is that you won’t have to worry about the language barrier. Not only would your guide be able to communicate with locals and lead you to your destinations, but you can easily communicate with them about your preferences and what you want. At Sublime China you can find tour guides that speak English, Spanish, and French, making it that much easier to travel in China.
Like with traveling anywhere in the world if you’re not a local, it can be hard to know what to look out for. On the streets there may be pickpocketers, local scams that you’re not aware of, and their main targets are unsuspecting tourist. Going with a tour will give you the comfort of being guided from place to place and not having to deal with uncertainties of figuring things out on your own and fall victim to crime.
3) Learn from a local
There’s a stereotype that those who partake in tours don’t get to interact with locals, but that can be quite the opposite. If you want to learn inside information about a place than tours are definitely the way to go. Tour guides are usually locals from where your traveling and can give you a whole new insight on the country or city. Not only are tour companies very knowledgeable about your destination, but they can show you hidden gems and the best routes since they are professionals and experts on the cities.
4) You can go alone
You have unexpected time off or need a vacation, but there’s no one free to go away with you? Take a tour! You can choose to go on a private or group tour, but if you don’t want to be alone, a tour is a guaranteed way to ensure you will always be accompanied. Whether that be with a group of likely minded individuals or your own personal tour guide.
Want to get your adrenaline pumping and go on a wild journey? Tours are the safest ways to do that. From ATV tours to mountain biking to hiking difficult trails. Tours are a great way to experience these adventures in the safest way possible. Not only do tour guides have experience traveling these routes, but they are also knowledgeable about what you need on these journeys and what to do in worst-case scenarios.
If you want to see a new city or country, but not have to deal with the logistics of planning everything. Then a tour is definitely for you. Everything from when you get off the plane, to your hotel, transportation, food, transfers, shopping time, etc… will all be all thought out for you. Every day your guide will lead you through different attractions and even if a problem were to occur, they’re sure to try their best to solve it for you and have a plan B ready.
7) You’re new to this
If you’re going to a new country for the first time or new to traveling in general. A tour is a good way to gain some experience before venturing out on your own. Having a tour guide will give you that extra sense of security and you can learn through how the tour company plans your trips for your own future solo adventures.
8) Cost Effective
You may think that tours are expensive and it’s cheaper for you to plan your own trip, but that may not be true. Tour companies tend to get better deals from hotels, restaurants, transportation and even attractions because of the number of people they bring in. Also before you leave for your trip you will know pretty much exactly how much you’ll be spending so there will be very little surprise expenses. Whereas when you plan on your own, there may be unexpected costs and expenses, especially if it’s your first time in China.
9) Pressed for time
If you don’t have time to plan your trip, then let someone else do it! Let a tour company know the number of days you have, things you want to see and they can fill out everything in between with the best options for you. All you have to do is show up!
10) The only option
Sometimes tours are the only option. You want to visit Tibet? Hike through rice paddies? Cruise through the Yangtze River? Sometimes group tours are the best way to see a place unless you’re a seasoned traveler and for places like Tibet, the only way.
