Sublime talk

When you think of doomy heights, you often think of recoiled reactions, fear, and perhaps even tears for some of us. Indeed most people shy away from leisurely trots along trails of acrophobic proportions, Calen Chan on the other hand, races towards it.

Here he is recording his epic and impressive journey at Tianmen Mountains, also known as, Heaven’s Gate.

If the beautiful backdrop looks familiar, it’s because this was where famous Canadian filmmaker James Cameron drew inspiration for the Hallelujah Mountains in 2010 movie, Avatar — truly one of heaven’s gates on Earth.

“Obviously this was difficult, and I physically couldn’t sprint down the entire path of deadly drops without slowing down, but I did my best!” He said on his Facebook fan page.

The Skyladder parkour course is about 999 steps with an average incline of 45 degrees. Watch Calen’s POV view and witness him weave around random tourists all the way down.

Interesting fact

China’s Tianmen Shan cable car is the longest cable car ride in the world, covering a distance of 7,455 meters.
