Located in the northern portion of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, is the incredible Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. Both Yuanjiajie and Zhangjiajie comprise the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Wulingyuan Scenic Area. With its otherworldly natural beauty, Yuanjiajie is considered perhaps the most beautiful section of the entire UNESCO site. Golden Whip Stream

Located in the eastern portion of the unbelievable Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is Golden Whip Stream. Named after Golden Whip Peak that it flows past, the stream meanders through several kilometers of the most beautiful section of the national park. Visitors follow the stream along paths through stunning natural beauty, where numerous species of animals and rare plant life reside. Both the stream and national park are part of the sprawling Wulingyuan Scenic and Historic Interest Area, which covers an expansive 397.5 square kilometers (153.5 square miles).

In 2001, 2001, the Ministry of Land and Resources classified Zhangjiajie specifically (including Golden Whip Stream) as a geopark. In 2004, UNESCO included the area in its global geoparks network.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon

Located around 50 km from downtown Zhangjiajie, is the remarkable Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. With its tranquil forests and plunging waterfalls, it is a must-see nature attraction to visit on your private Zhangjiajie tour. Close to Wulingyuan Scenic Area, the canyon covers a total area of 60 square km.
