Your Anshun tour begins in the capital of Guizhou, Guiyang, where you can enjoy a satisfying breakfast before meeting your expert bilingual Anshun tour guide in the hotel lobby.
After an approximately 2 hour (137 km) drive in your chauffeured car, you will come face to face with the renowned and magnificent Huangguoshu Waterfall, in Anshun. This scenic marvel is one of the largest waterfalls in East Asia – 77.8 meters tall (243 feet) and 101 meters (266 feet) wide.
Visitors have the option to view the waterfall from many different, but equally awe-inspiring, angles. Catch a panoramic view of the whole waterfall from a distance or dare to explore up-close, where you can bask in its roaring enormity.
Together with the Huangguoshu Waterfall National Parks that include minor Waterfall Clusters, the Water-Curtain Cave, and the Rhinoceros Pool (Xi Niu Tan), the China National Tourist Administration classifies this breathtaking tourist destination as an AAAAA scenic area.
After experiencing the awe of the Huangguoshu Waterfall, a delightful lunch awaits you at a popular local Chinese restaurant (approximately 40-50 minutes).
Following lunch, you will make your way to the beautiful natural landscapes, hidden walkways, and mysterious caves of the Tianxingqiao Scenic Area, located 6 km downstream of the Huangguoshu Waterfall. Within this scenic spot are three main areas:
Tianxing Cave: A unique karst cave composed of naturally formed chambers and four huge stelae (each over 20 meters in height) rising from the floor to the ceiling. Each stela is carved with beautiful and exquisite patterns.
Tianxing Potted Landscape on Water: Located on and along the sides of the Sancha River, the wind and water erosion has carved and shaped a winding path in the karst limestone, resembling potted plants of different shapes and sizes.
Stone Forest in Water: Half of the stone forest is inside the water and the other half above. The whole forest, surrounded by the river, waterfalls, and lush forest is a sight to behold. Tourists can also enjoy the Yinlianzhuitan Waterfall and the Xingxia Flying Waterfall in the area.
Our day is not quite over yet, as we head off to another AAAAA scenic area, an underground cave known as the Dragon Palace – deriving its name from ancient Chinese tales and myth.
As you tour the caves by boat, you will witness the underground cave system with lakes, waterfalls, and mysterious structures formed by stalactites. As the region is inhabited by the Bouyei ethnic group, the tour to Dragon Palace will also give the tourists a chance to meet and experience the colorful and unique Chinese ethnic minority culture.
At the end of the long and packed full day in Anshun, you will be driven back the Capital, Guiyang in your chauffeured vehicle.
