Day 1 Arrival in Beijing

Your classic China tour starts off soft in Beijing, capital city, it's known for having a nice blend of both traditional and modern living.

Our driver and English-speaking tour guide will welcome you at the airport exit after you land.

From here we'll load up your luggage and escort you to the hotel. Feel free to ask your tour guide questions along the way.

When you arrive, your Sublime China tour guide will help you check-in. We understand that you may feel tired from jet lag, so you'll have the rest of the day to relax and plan for tomorrow's adventure.

Day 2 Beijing

It's day 2 of your classic China tour, after breakfast, our tour guide will drive you to see Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world, the center of Beijing city.

The square features many classic attractions. Here you'll find the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong.

It's interesting to note that Mao Zedong claimed the founding of the People's Republic of China in the square October 1, 1949.

Beside Tiananmen Square, there is National Museum. The National Museum is relatively new and is the largest museum in China.

The museum is abundant with ancient cultural artifacts that tell many stories of the ancients.

Your classic China tour then heads down to the Forbidden City, a palace that was used for many dynasties throughout history.

It features 980 buildings, stunning pieces of classic Chinese architecture. Since 1925, it has been under the care of the Palace Museum and is currently the most visited art museum in the world with over 14.6 million annual visitors.

After touring through the Forbidden City we come to Jinshan Park, the former imperial gardens of Ming and Qing dynasties.

When standing on top of the park, you can have a whole view of the Forbidden City -- make sure to have your cameras out!

After Jinshan Park, we eat lunch.

In the afternoon, the tour looks to Hutong, a unique and special place near and dear to Beijing. The Hutong is a residential community of narrow alleys, which only exists in North China.

Here is where we'll get to experience local life and even have a chance to visit a local family. Then dinner will be served.

In the evening after supper we'll attend the Peking Opera Show.

Peking Opera is a Chinese traditional art performance with a long history. It is a performance featuring impressive vocals, mime, dance and acrobatics -- a definite checkbox for your travel bucket list.

After the show, we will escort you back to the hotel.


Day 3 Beijing

Mutianyu Great Wall is more secluded than the Badaling Great Wall.

Mutianyu Great Wall was first built in Northern Qi (550-577). In Ming Dynasty, General Xu Da constructed the Great Wall on its former base.

The Mutianyu Pass was built in 1404. The fortifications and the Great Wall here feature many watchtowers on overlapping mountain ranges -- a picturesque backdrop worth keeping, feel free to snap photos along the way.

The wall itself was built with slabs of stone, earth, and bricks. The wall was built for protection and warded off attacks from Juyongguan in the west and Gubeikou in the east.

You will be transferred to the cable cars for a round trip and walk on the Great Wall to discover the watchtowers. From here lunch will be served.

In the afternoon, the tour will visit the Changling Mausoleum and Sacred Way.

Changling Mausoleum is the head of Ming Tombs in Beijing and we'll make our way to unlock its mysteries and classic history.

After visiting the Changling Mausoleum, we will escort you back downtown to see the National Stadium (The Nest) and National Swimming Center from the outside.

Peking Duck will be served as dinner.


Day 4 Beijing-Xi’an by bulletin train

It's day 4 of your classic China tour and today we start off with a ride out to the Summer Palace, the most famous imperial gardens in China during the Empress and Emperors in Qing Dynasty.

Tranquil as it is beautiful, you'll get to bare witness to a symphony of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing, China.

It features Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, spanning 2.9 square kilometres (1.1 sq mi), three-quarters of which is water.

Longevity Hill is about 60 metres (200 feet) high and features many buildings along the skirts.

We drive to the Temple of Heaven, a World Cultural Heritage landmark, officially recognized by the United Nations.

In the past, it was used as a place where emperors prayed to gods and performed sacrifices.

From here we take the bulletin train to the ancient capital city, Xi’an. Upon arrival, one of our Sublime China cars will pick you up and drive you to your hotel.


Day 5 Xi’an

Xi’an has served as the capital city of six dynasties in the history of China. There are countless cultural artifacts and historical buildings.

Also, as the start of Silk Road, it has been the focus of much attention.

After breakfast, we see the Terracotta Warriors and Horses. The Terracotta Army was created to guard the first Emperor of Chinese history and to protect him in the tomb for the afterlife.

Thousands of stone warriors and horses were buried in the tomb in various shapes. It's a classic piece of funerary art and a must-see when anyone visits China.

Lunch will be served after our tour.

In the afternoon, your tour continues and we make way to the Ancient City Walls, the largest and best preserved in China which has a total length of 13.7km.

Then Bell and Drum Tower, the symbol architecture of Xi’an. Bell Tower was built in 1384 and Drum Tower in 1380.

Then we walk to Hui Nationality Street, Hui Nationality is a Chinese minority group living in northwest China. Xi’an is a place where many of them live.

In Former Residence of Family Gao which is a well-preserved typical residence of Han Nationality, built in Ming Dynasty, you will have the chance to watch the traditional and interesting puppet show here.

Dinner will be served.

In the evening, we take you to see the Tang Dynasty Show in Xi’an, a traditional singing and dancing performance, classic Chinese entertainment, the only way to do it on a tour of classic China.


Day 6 Xi’an-Guilin by air plane

After breakfast, we explore Xi’an city. First visiting the well-known Shaanxi History Museum, the first modern museum in China where you can see precious bronze articles of Shang and Zhou Dynasty, various Terracotta Warriors, the exquisitely designed gold and silver ornaments as well as the unique fresco of tombs in the Tang Dynasty.

From there we visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a famous landmark of Xi’an, which was built in 652 A.D. in the Tang Dynasty to restore the Buddhist scriptures brought by the famous Monk Xuanzang.

After our tour we take time to eat lunch.

In the afternoon we continue and visit the Hanyangling Museum, the tomb of the 4th Emperor Jing (Liu Qi) and his queen in Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-24 AD).

Hands down it is the most intact royal mausoleum and arguably the most prized document in the research of ancient burial customs and civilization from this dynasty ever discovered.

After the tour, we will head over to the airport for the flight to Guilin. Upon arrival, our local tour guide and driver will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel.


Day 7 Guilin-Yangshuo

With the most fascinating landscape in China, Guilin is one of the most popular destinations in China.

The picturesque Li River, typical Karst cave, tranquil countryside view and lifestyle are the highlights of the region.

After breakfast, we will drive to take a river cruise down the fascinating Li River and witness the spectacular limestone rock formations and rural life along the riverbanks. It takes around 4 hours to get there.

When we arrive in Yangshuo, before lunch, we'll take you into a cooking school and with the help of the chefs, we will go into the market and buy cooking materials.

We will then learn how to cook a classic Chinese dish and also get to eat it when it's done...Yummy.

We stay in Yangshuo for the night.


Day 8 Yangshuo-Guilin-Shanghai by air plane

After breakfast, we will learn Taichi lessons for 1 hour. From there we ride bicycles and experience the rural lifestyle of Yangshuo.

This is local life. We'll get to see beautiful cottages, fields and visit Moon Mountain.

We then drive back to Guilin to visit the Reed Flute Cave and Elephant Trunk Peak.

Reed Flute Cave is a natural limestone cave with multi-colored lighting, arguably one of Guilin’s most interesting features over 1200 years.

Elephant Trunk Peak is a beautiful work of nature and yet another classic attraction of Guilin.

It looks like a giant elephant is coming out of the rock and drinking water from the river -- beautiful.

Thereafter we make our way back, drive to the airport and fly to Shanghai. The car will pick you up from the airport and send you to your hotel to relax for the rest of the day.


Day 9 Shanghai

Today's classic China tour features a full day tour of the classic attractions in the metropolis.

Firstly, we stroll around the Bund, a famous waterfront with 52 various buildings of different architectural styles.

You can also enjoy the impressive skyline of the Pudong District. Opposite to the Bund is the Oriental Pearl Tower, here is where we will get a chance to see inside the legendary tower.

We then move onto the Old City, the cradle of the history of Shanghai.

The Old City was the former political, economic and cultural center of Shanghai in ancient times.

The close-by Yuyuan Garden is one of the most famous attractions in the old city. It is often considered as the crown jewel of the metropolis, the traditional private garden was originally built in 1559 A.D. in Ming Dynasty.

Lunch will be served after the tour.

In the afternoon we will tour the well-known Shanghai Museumone of the top 3 museums in China, which is famous for its large collection of bronze articles and relics.

Besides, you can also see the precious ancient ceramics, Chinese paintings, and more. After that, you will be driven to Jade Buddha Temple.

With a history of over 100 years, it is a famous temple in Shanghai. Thereafter we continue to Xintiandi which is a vibrant and trendy area with various restaurants, shops, and entertainment.

This evening, dinner is your choice. In the evening, we'll watch an entertaining acrobatics performance.


Day 10 Shanghai-Departure
