Day 1, Beijing-Arrival.

With a long history of 5,000 years, China is definitely an excellent destination for your holiday. You will not only experience the splendid culture, long history and see the fascinating natural landscapes, but also have the chance to enjoy delicious Chinese food. On this tour, we also include the incredible World Heritage Site that is the Great Wall of China and Gubei Water Town, which is a newly developed water town for holiday and leisure. You will be amazed by the the stunning night views of the water town and the wild beauty of Simatai Great Wall. The night tour on great wall is undoubtedly one of the highlights in the trip.

Upon arrival, you will be picked up at the Arrival Hall of Beijing International Airport. Then transfer to your hotel, and you are free to explore on your own the rest of the day. You will stay at Beijing for 3 nights.

 

Day 2, Beijing

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Peking Roasted Duck Dinner.

 The Forbidden City

After enjoying the breakfast you will walk on Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historical events. Next, discover the Forbidden City, one of the most famous palaces in the world, where the 24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years.

Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.

This afternoon, drive to visit the stunning and well-preserved imperial garden, The Summer Palace, which was built in the late Qing Dynasty as the summer resort for the Empress Dowager Cixi. It was constructed based on the famous West Lake, and designed with private garden techniques found south of the Yangtze River.

Tonight, we will arrange a delectable Peking Roasted Duck Dinner for you at Quanjude Restaurant as the welcome dinner.

After dinner, drive back to the hotel.

 

Day 3, Beijing-Gubei Water Town

Gubei Water Town

This morning, drive to visit the famous Jinshanling Great Wall which is considered one of the wonders in the world, as well as being a World Heritage Site. This section is a highlight of the Great Wall, which is visited by far fewer tourists. You will take a 3.5-4 hour hike on the Great Wall from Jinshanling to Simatai West and enjoy the fun of hiking on the ancient structure.

This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It provides spectacular surrounding landscapes, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, open views. There is fascinating variety in the watch-towers here. Some have two and three-storeys. Some have flat roofs, others rounded and others again are pitched with upturned eaves. This section of the wall is wild, remote, and wonderfully well-preserved. 

A lunch with served with snacks, bottled water, and fruit during the trip as there is no restaurant in the vicinity.

This afternoon, drive to the hidden gem in Beijing-Gubei Water Town. Located at the foot of Simatai Great Wall, Gubei Water Town is designed based on historical relics from Simatai. It covers a total area of 9 sq.km, including 6 districts and 3 valleys. It is a wonderful combination of sightseeing, leisure, and relaxing. You will not only spend a relaxing time at the water town but also attend the interesting night-tour on the Great Wall. Overnight at the boutique hotel, William Edgar Hotel.

 

Day 4, Beijing-Xian (by bullet train).

Meals: Buffet breakfast.

Activity: Learn to make a traditional kite.

This morning, you will attend a fascinating class on making a traditional kite. The kite has a long history of over 2000 years in China. In the studio, the experienced craftsman will teach you how to make the traditional kite. After the class, you can take the kite with you as a souvenir.

Afterward, you will be transferred to the railway station for the departing train to the legendary city of  Xi’an (around 5 hours). Enjoy the landscape along the way. Once there, be picked up and transferred to the hotel.

Day 5, Xian

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch

Terracottar Warriors

After breakfast, you will start your full-day tour in the ancient city. First, visit the world-renowned Terracotta Warriors. The Terracotta Army was created to guard Emperor Qin Shihuang's tomb and protect him in the afterlife. It is estimated that there are over 7,000 life-sized Terracotta figures and horses buried here.

Lunch will be served as a delicious local Chinese meal.

This afternoon visit the landmark of the city-Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the square pyramid stands 60 meters high. It was built to house Buddhist scriptures brought by the famous Monk Xuanzang. Afterward, visit the Grand Mosque, which was initially constructed in 742 A.D. It is an extremely well-preserved complex, which shows the combination of Islamic belief and Chinese culture. After that, stroll around the famous Muslim Quarters where you can taste the local delicious snacks. Afterward, drive to your hotel.

 

Day 6, Xian-Guilin (by plane)

Activity: Cycling on Ancient City Wall.

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Dumpling Banquet at De Fa Chang Restaurant.

Ancient City Wall

After breakfast, you will visit drive to visit the Ancient City Wall, which was built in the Ming Dynasty with a history over 600 years. You will take an interesting cycling tour on the massive city wall. Then visit the Square of Bell and Drum Tower where you can see the well-preserved ancient Bell and Drum Tower of Ming Dynasty (outside visiting only). Afterward, visit the Former Residence of Family Gao. It is famous for its well-preserved traditional architecture with the courtyard. You will also enjoy a traditional puppet show here.

Lunch will be served the famous dumpling banquet at De Fa Chang Restaurant which was established in 1936. It’s one of the most famous dumpling restaurants in Xi’an.

Afterward, drive to the airport for the departing flight to the exceptional metropolis, Shanghai. Once there, be picked up and transferred to the hotel. You will stay in Shanghai for 2 nights.

 

Day 7, Guilin-Xingping-Yanshuo

Activity: Bamboo Rafting trip down the Li River (Yangdi-Xingping, around 3 hours), Wuzhishan Hill

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch.

Yulong River Bamboo Raft

This morning after breakfast, drive to Yangdi Pier where you will take the leisurely bamboo rafting trip down the Li River to Xingping. It takes around 3 hours on the raft, and you can enjoy the fascinating natural views along the Li River and the beautiful countryside. Then visit the ancient town of Xingping, a stunning pearl on Li River, which features the well-preserved traditional residences, wonderful old banyan trees, cobbled streets. It is considered to be the most beautiful ancient town on the Li River. After that, drive to Yangshuo and stroll around the famous Yangshuo West Street. Continue on to the beautiful Wuzhishan Hill (Five Fingers Hill) which is considered to be the best place to enjoy the sunset on the  Li River (depending on the weather).After the tour, drive to check-in at your hotel. Overnight at Yangshuo.

 

Day 8, Yangshuo-Guilin-Shanghai (by air)

Activity: Cycling in the countryside of Yangshuo (1 hour)

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch.

Elephant Trunk Hill

This morning, you will take an interesting cycling trip(1 hour) in the countryside of Yangshuo County and explore the beautiful landscapes there. Then, drive back to visit the fascinating karst landform-Reed Flute Cave, which is a stunning example of the beauty of Nature. The last stop today is the landmark of Guilin-Elephant Trunk Hill. At an elevation of 200m, Elephant Truck Hill rises 55m above water's surface and measures 108m in length and 100m in width. Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese food during the trip.

Afterward, drive to the airport for the departing flight to the financial center of China, Shanghai. Once there, be picked up and transfer to the hotel. You will stay in Shanghai for 2 nights.

 

Day 9, Shanghai

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Special Lunch at Xianqiangfang Restaurant

The Bund

After breakfast, you will start your full-day tour to explore the metropolis. First, stroll around the romantic area of the Bund, which is a famous waterfront with 52  buildings of different architectural styles. You can enjoy the beautiful panoramic skyline of the city. Then visit the famous Yu Garden which is the most famous private garden in Shanghai, built in 1559 A.D. It is regarded as the “Stunning Pearl” of Shanghai. Stroll around the nearby bustling, Yuyuan Bazaar where you can do some shopping for souvenirs.You will also get to sample the delicious street food-Long Xiang Baozi (steamed stuffed-bun).

Lunch will be delicious authentic Shanghai cuisine at the famous Xiang Qiang Fang Restaurant.  

This afternoon, visit the famous Shanghai Museum, one of the best museums in China, which features a large collection of bronze artifacts. Then stroll around the famous Nanjing Road which is considered to the most popular pedestrian street in Shanghai. The last stop today is the famous Tianzifang, a very popular site for tourists in Shanghai, which was renovated from the local stone-arched houses into the trendy boutiques, bars, restaurants as well as art studios. Dinner will be on your own expense.

Afterward, drive back to the hotel.

 

Day 10, Shanghai-departure.

Oriental Pearl TV Tower

This morning drive around Lujiazui Financial Zone which is considered to the “Wall Street of China” as many international banks and financial organizations are located there. Then visit the newest landmark of Shanghai, Shanghai Tower. With the total height of 632m, it is considered the tallest building in China. You will take a high-speed elevator up the 118 Floor Observation Hall where you can get a spectacular panoramic view of the metropolis.

Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.

This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your departing flight. Thus, the end your memorable trip in China.
