Welcome to China, with its 5000-year-old history, splendid culture, numerous historical sites, as well as its variety of delicious cuisine. This exploration tour starts from the capital city, Beijing.
Upon your arrival, our local English-speaking guide will hold a pick-up sign with your name and meet with you at the Arrival Hall of Beijing International Airport. Then, transfer to your hotel and enjoy exploring on your own for the rest of the day.
After enjoying the breakfast, you will walk on Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historical events. Next, discover the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where the 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. It is also one of the best-preserved palaces in the world. Afterward, visit Jingshan Park, the former imperial garden of the Ming and Qing dynasties where you can have the panoramic view of the entire Forbidden City.
Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.
This afternoon, continue on to visit the largest imperial garden, The Summer Palace, which was built in the late Qing Dynasty as the summer resort for the Empress Dowager Cixi. You can enjoy the fascinating landscape of the park there. Tonight, we will arrange the local specialty of Peking Roasted Duck Dinner at the famous Da Dong Kao Ya Restaurant, considered to be the best roasted-duck restaurant in Beijing.
This morning, take a 2-hour car ride to visit the world famous Great Wall (Mutianyu Section), listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. This section is the highlight of the Ming Great Wall. You will take a leisurely cable car ( round-trip cable car included) up and down the Great Wall.
Lunch is arranged with the nice set-meal at the Brickyard Retreat, considered the best restaurant in the region.
This afternoon drive to the Changling Tomb, the largest tomb of the 13 Ming Tombs which were built for emperors during the Ming Dynasty. It is a good way to understand the architecture and culture of mausoleums in ancient China. After the tour, drive back to the hotel.
After breakfast, drive to the famous imperial garden Beihai Park where you can see the well-known Nine Dragon Wall. Then, visit the famous Temple of Heaven, the landmark of Beijing, which was used by the emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasty to pray for good harvests. After that, take a leisurely rickshaw tour in Beijing Hutong. You will have the chance to see the traditional residences of local people and experience the lifestyle.
Lunch will be traditional imperial cuisine at the famous Fangshan Restaurant.
Afterward, take the afternoon flight to the ancient legendary city of Xi’an. Be picked up and transferred to the hotel. You will stay in Xi’an for 2 nights.
After breakfast, you will start your full-day tour of the ancient city. First on the tour, the world-famous Terracotta Warriors. The Terracotta Army was created to guard Emperor Qin Shihuang's tomb, and to protect him in the afterlife. There are an estimated that there are over 7,000 life-size Terra-cottar figures and horses buried here.
Then enjoy authentic Xi’an cuisine at the well-known Real Love Li Shan.
This afternoon, visit the landmark of the city-Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the square pyramid stands at 60 meters high and seven-storeys tall. It was built to store the Buddhist scriptures brought by the famous monk, Xuanzang. Afterward, visit the Grand Mosque, which was initially constructed in 742 A.D. It is a revered architectural complex, which shows the combination of Islamic belief and Chinese culture. Next, explore the nearby Muslim Quarter and discover local delicious snacks. You will then be driven to your hotel.
After breakfast, you will visit the well-known Shaanxi History Museum, one of the most famous museums in China where you can get to learn more about the history and culture of Shaanxi. Next, visit the Square of Bell and Drum Tower where you can see the exquisitely preserved ancient structure of the Ming Dynasty (outside visiting only).
Lunch will be served with traditional dumpling banquet at Defachang Restaurant.
After lunch, you will be driven to the Ancient City Wall, which was built during the Ming Dynasty with a history of over 600 years. You will take an interesting cycling tour on the massive city wall.
After the tour, drive to the airport for the departure flight to the fairyland city, Guilin. Once there, be picked up and transferred to the hotel. You will stay in Guilin for 2 nights.
After breakfast, you will be driven to take a leisurely Li River Cruise and enjoy the fascinating landscapes. It is a 4-hour cruise along the picturesque Li River, surrounded by numerous Karst hills. Lunch is served on board before arriving at Yangshuo, a small town set in the lush rice paddies and surrounded by meandering rivers and limestone peaks.
Lunch will be served with buffet meal on board. (Please have a good breakfast this morning at the hotel as the buffet food onboard is a limited selection.) Then, you will stroll around Yangshuo West Street and buy some little gifts for your family or friends. After the trip, drive back to the hotel in Guilin.
This morning, drive to visit the highlights of Guilin. At an elevation of 200m, Elephant Truck Hill measures 108m in length and 100m in width. Next, visit the incredible Karst formations in Flute Reed Cave, famous for its variety of stalagmites, stone curtains, and stone pillars.
After the tour, transfer to the airport for the departure flight to the exceptional city of Shanghai. You will stay in Shanghai for 2 nights.
After breakfast, start your full-day tour to explore the metropolis. First, stroll around The Bund, which is a famous waterfront area with 52 various buildings of different architectural styles. You can enjoy the beautiful skyline of the city. Then drive to visit the beautiful Yu Garden which is the most famous private garden in Shanghai built in 1559 A.D. Next on the tour, is the bustling Shanghai Old Town, featuring well-preserved Qing Dynasty style architecture.
Lunch will be authentic Shanghai cuisine at the famous Xian Qiang Fang Restaurant which is located on the popular Nanjing Road.
This afternoon, visit the famous Shanghai Museum, one of the TOP 3 museums in China, which features the large collection of bronze artifacts. Next stop, is the Jade Buddha Temple is one of the most popular Buddhist temples in Shanghai. You can see the graceful and exquisite reclining Jade Buddha. Xintiandi, the new highlight of Shanghai, which was renovated from traditional residences into trendy boutiques, bars, and, restaurants.
Dinner will be exceptional Italian cuisine at the world-famous Marcato by Jean Georges, located in the Bund. While you enjoy the dinner, you can also enjoy the great night scenery of the Huangpu River.
This morning, visit the newest city landmark, Shanghai World Financial Center. You will take a high-speed elevator to the 100th Floor Observation Hall. Equipped with three transparent glass-floor walkways, the Sky Walk 100 is the most exciting venue to enjoy the magnificent views of Shanghai. After that, drive around the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, considered to be the “Wall Street of China” as many international banks and financial organizations are located here.
Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal, thus ending this magnificent tour.
