Day 1 Arrival at Beijing

Welcome to visit China, with its 5000-year-old history, splendid culture, numerous historical sites as well as the fascinating landscapes. Upon arrival, our local experienced tour guide and driver will hold a pick-up sign with your name and meet with you at the Arrival Hall of Beijing International Airport. You will then be driven to the hotel in the downtown core. The rest of the day, enjoy exploring on your own.

Day 2 Beijing

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Peking Roasted Duck Dinner

This morning, you will be picked up at your hotel lobby. Then, start the full-day tour to explore the ancient capital city. First, visit Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world. Next, is the Forbidden City, which is the largest ancient wooden-structure complex existing in the world. It is inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After that, visit walk to the nearby Jingshan Park, which provides great panoramic views of the whole palace.

Lunch will be a delicious Chinese meal.

This afternoon, explore the largest imperial garden, The Summer Palace, which was built in the late Qing Dynasty as the summer resort for the Empress Dowager Cixi. You can enjoy the fascinating landscape of the park. Tonight, we will arrange for you as a welcome dinner, Peking Roasted Duck at the famous Quanjude Restaurant. Afterward, drive back to the hotel.

Forbidden City

Day 3 Beijing

Activities: Slide Down the Great Wall

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch.

Today, we explore the world-famous Great Wall of China (Mutianyu Section), which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This section is the highlight of the Ming Great Wall. It was used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and imperial tombs in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). This section is surrounded by woodland and streams. It was restored in the early 1980s, however, retains the original features of the ancient defense system. You will take a cable car up to the Great Wall and experience the exciting slide-ride down.

Lunch will be served at the foot of the Great Wall.

On the way back to the hotel. You will have the chance the see the new landmarks of Beijing, the Birds Nest, known as the National Stadium. It was used as the main stadium of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, which also held the opening and closing ceremonies. The building itself has become an iconic national image of China. Afterward, drive back to the hotel.

Mutianyu Great Wall

Day 4 Beijing-Huangshan (by bullet train)

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

After breakfast, before boarding on the high-speed bullet train to the famous city of Huangshan, you will visit the famous Temple of Heaven.  A landmark of Beijing, the temple was used by the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties to pray good harvests and hold ceremonies. You will then take a bullet train ride of about 6.5 hours to the beautiful city of Huangshan. Once there, be picked up and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Huangshan.beijing temple of heaven

Day 5 Huangshan City-Huangshan Mountain

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Chinese Dinner.

After breakfast, transfer to the famous Huangshan Mountain which has been inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It features for the uniquely-shaped pine trees,  hot springs, and fascinating stone formations. You will take a leisurely cable car ride (Yungu Station) from the back portion of the mountain. Depending on your physical condition, you can visit the highlights including Beihai Scenic Area, Xihai Scenic Area, Paiyun Pavilion Scenic Area, Lion Peak, and Shixin Peak. Lunch and dinner will be local Chinese meals on the mountain. Tonight, stay upon the mountain.

Huangshan

Day 6 Huangshan-Hongcun-Huangshan

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

Early this morning depending on the weather, you will have a chance to see the fabulous sunrise on your own. Then, return back to your hotel for breakfast. After breakfast and check-out, you will hike from the back to the front portion of the mountain, and enjoy the other famous sites (You can also discuss the hiking route with our local guide based on your requests and physical condition.). You will end the hiking on the Yuping Tower and see the unique pine trees there. Next, take the cable car down the mountain. Lunch will be a Chinese meal during the trip.

This afternoon, head to the famous ancient village of Hongcun, which has been inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Afterward, transfer back to the hotel in Huangshan.

Day 7 Huangshan-Hangzhou (By bullet train)

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

Today, you will take the bullet train from Huangshan to the romantic city of Hangzhou (around 3 hours one way). Once there, be picked up and transfer to have lunch.

This afternoon, explore the fascinating views of the “City of Heaven”. First, stroll along the famous Su Causeway. The tour continues with a leisurely cruise on West Lake, and enjoy the picturesque lake view. Afterward, stroll around the famous Hefang Street which is lined with stores. You can buy lovely gifts for your friends and family. Dinner will be your own expense.

Tonight, you will enjoy the best night show in Hangzhou, 'Enduring Memories of Hangzhou', directed by renowned director, Zhang Yimou. After the show, drive back to the hotel.West Lake

Day 8 Hangzhou-Suzhou (By bullet train)

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

After breakfast, explore Lingyin Temple, which was originally built in 326 A.D. during the East Jin Dynasty. Next, is the Fling Peak, famous for the hundreds of Buddhist sculptures and natural caves. The last stop is the famous Meijiawu Tea Plantation, where the best Longjing Green Tea is planted. You can enjoy the Longjing Tea and relax there.

This afternoon, take the afternoon bullet train to the “City of Water and Garden”, Suzhou. Once there, be picked up and transfer to the hotel. You are free to explore the rest of the day on your own. 

Meijiawu

Day 9 Suzhou-Shanghai (By bullet train)

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

Shanghai Lee Gardens Hotel **** or similar class

After breakfast, you will spend a full day to explore the “Water City with gardens”, Suzhou.  First, visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden, originally built in 1509 during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). It was initially a private garden for a former government official. Water is the major theme of the garden and its scenery includes lush forests, hills, and rock formations, man-made pavilions, halls, and parlors. Then, visit Panmen Gate, which is the only gate for both the land and water. Standing on the gate, you will see the famous Grand Canal.

Lunch will be a delicious Chinese meal.

After lunch, visit the wonderful Suzhou Museum, designed with the style of a private garden. The museum houses over 30,000 cultural relics, most notably for excavated artifacts, Ming and Qing Dynasty paintings and calligraphy, and ancient arts and crafts. After that, visit the lovely Nets of Masters’ Garden one of the smallest private gardens in Suzhou. Continue on to visit the ancient historic street, Shantang Historical Street. It features cobblestone roads, well-preserved traditional dwellings, narrow, lanes, and the river. Afterward, drive back to your hotel in Shanghai.

Day 10 Shanghai

Activity: Night-cruise on the Huangpu River

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

After breakfast, explore the metropolis. First, stroll around The Bund which is a famous waterfront area with 52 various buildings of different architectural styles. You can enjoy the beautiful skyline of the city. Next, drive to the famous Yu Garden, the most famous private garden in Shanghai built in 1559 A.D. Then stroll around the bustling Shanghai Old Town which features Qing Dynasty style architecture. 

Lunch will be authentic Shanghai cuisine at the famous Lvbolang Restaurant which is visited by many presidents, celebrities, and other dignitaries from around the world.

This afternoon, visit the famous Shanghai Museum, one of the TOP 3 museums in China, which features the large collection of bronze artifacts. Then visit the Former French Concession which is lined with well-preserved European style architecture and the tree. Next, is Tianzifang, a must-see destination for visitors which was converted from former residences and are now occupied by art studios, art galleries, restaurants, and shops.

After dinner, transfer to the take an evening cruise on the Huangpu River and enjoy the stunning night views of the metropolis. After the cruise, drive to your hotel.Yuyuan Garden

Day 11 Shanghai-Departure

Activity: Maglev train ride (One way)

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

This morning, drive to the new landmark of the city, the Shanghai World Financial Center. You will take a high-speed elevator up the 100th Floor Observation Hall, where you can get a great panoramic view of the metropolis and experience the exciting Sky-Walk. With the height of 492 meters, it is the second tallest building in China. After that, drive around Lujiazui Financial Zone, considered to  be the “Wall Street of China”, as many international banks and financial organizations are gathered here.

Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal. This afternoon, drive to take the maglev train ride (around 7 minutes) from Longyang Road Station to Shanghai Pudong International Airport for your departing flight (We suggest you book the departing flight for a time after4:00 pm). Thus, the end of this memorable China tour.
