Day 1 Beijing-Arrival

Welcome to China, with its 5000-year-old history, splendid culture, numerous historical sites, and an exquisite variety of delicious food. Upon arrival, the local tour guide and driver will hold a pick-up sign with your name and meet with you at the Arrival Hall of Beijing International Airport. You will then be transferred to your hotel in the downtown core. The rest of the day, free you are free to explore on your own. You will stay in Beijing for 3 nights.

Day 2 Beijing

Activity: Boating on the lake in the Summer Palace.

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch, Peking Roasted Duck Dinner.

After enjoying the breakfast, you will walk to Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historical events. Next, discover the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world where the 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. Afterward, visit Jingshan Park, the former imperial garden of the Ming and Qing dynasties which overlooks the entire Forbidden City.
Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.

This afternoon, the tour continues with a visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Summer Palace, built in the late Qing Dynasty as the summer resort for the Empress Dowager Cixi. You can enjoy a fascinating landscape of this spectacular imperial park. Next, is a leisurely boat ride on the beautiful Kunming Lake. During this portion of the tour, you will also visit a local silk store.

Tonight, we will arrange a fabulous Peking Roasted Duck Dinner for you at the famous Quanjude Restaurant as the welcome dinner.

Day 3 Beijing-Great Wall Hiking (Gubeikou)

This morning, you will be transferred to visit the world-famous Great Wall (Gubeikou Section), listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. As the best-preserved section of the Great Wall, it consists of the North Qi Great Wall and the Ming Dynasty Great Wall. It is also the key route between Shanhaiguan and Juyongguan. In 1378 (the 11th year of Emperor Hongwu’s reign in the Ming Dynasty), General Xu Da ordered this section of the Great Wall rebuilt. Gubeikou has probably seen more battles than any other part of the Great wall, including some of the most famous in Chinese history. On the southern slope of Gubeikou stands a temple dedicated to Yang Ye, a famous Great Wall garrison general of the Song Dynasty. This is one of the oldest temples dedicated to the general in China. In WWII, there was fierce fighting between Chinese and Japanese armies for weeks, and a cemetery for some 300 Chinese soldiers is preserved close to the Wall. The whole hiking experince takes around 3.5-4 hours. Lunch will be snacks, bread, milk, drinks, fruit etc. After the trip, drive back to the downtown and relax.

 Day 4 Beijing-Xian (By bullet train).

Activities: Rickshaw tour in Hutong.

Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch

After breakfast, visit the famous Temple of Heaven, a landmark of Beijing, which was used by the emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties to pray for good harvests, and hold the Heaven worshiping ceremony. Next, take a leisurely rickshaw tour in Beijing Hutong. You will have the chance to see the original residences of local people and experience the traditional lifestyle. You will visit a local Chinese tea shop and enjoy the tea ceremony. Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.

Afterward, drive to the railway station and take the bullet train to the ancient city, Xi’an. It takes around 4.5-5 hours. You can enjoy the beautiful landscape between the two ancient capitals. Once there, be picked up and transfer to the hotel.

 Day 5 Xian-Zhangjiajie (By Air)

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Xian Cuisine at True Love Restaurant (DA QIN XIAO YAN)

After breakfast, you will start your full-day tour in the ancient city. First, visit the world-renowned Terracotta Warriors, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Terracotta Army was created to guard Emperor Qin Shihuang's tomb and to protect him in the afterlife. It is estimated that there are over 7,000 life-size Terracotta figures and horses buried here. Then visit the ceramic factory on the site, where you can see how the terracotta warriors were made.

Lunch will be authentic Xi’an cuisine at the famous True Love Restaurant (DA QIN XIAO YAN). This afternoon visit the landmark of the city, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in the Tang Dynasty, the square pyramid stands at 60 meters high and seven-storeys tall. It was originally built in 652 A.D. to preserve the Buddhist sutra which was brought by the famous monk, Xuanzang from India. The pagoda was inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in June 2014, which was an important site on the ancient Silk Road. Next on the tour, is the Grand Mosque, originally constructed in 742 A.D. It is a renowned architectural complex, which shows the combination of Islamic belief and Chinese culture.

Afterward, drive to the airport and take the night flight to Zhangjiajie. Overnight at the downtown.

Day 6 Zhangjiajie

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

 After breakfast,  will take a shuttle bus to the unbelievable Yuanjiajie Scenic Area. A seemingly magical place, its pillar rock formations inspired the floating mountains in the blockbuster movie, Avatar. It is the only special conservation area among all World  Heritage Sites of China. When the clouds and mist rise, it looks like a fantasy wonderland. A truly amazing sight to behold.

After lunch, you will visit the Tianzi Mountain, located in the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, regarded as  “the king of all mountains”. It is named after the farmer, Xiang Dakun of the Tujia ethnic group, who led a successful local farmers' revolt and called himself "tianzi". This means "son of Heaven" and is the traditional epithet of the Chinese emperor. The seas of clouds are splendid, especially when the sky clears after the rain. It has peaks, ravines, and gullies in all its directions. It is a must-see attraction for visitors to the region.. We then head down the mountain by the Bailong Elevator.

Day 7 Zhangjiajie

After enjoying the buffet breakfast, continue to explore the  Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and visit Huangshi Fort by cable car. The cable car ride rises 1,080 meters. Yellow Stone Village features soaring cliffs covering 16.5 hectares and it is one of the most popular destinations for travelers. It contains many interesting sites including Heavenly Books and Treasure Chest, Sea Calming Needle, Single Pole in the Southern Heaven, Golden Tortoise Popping Over the Sea, and more. There is a famous saying in China, "He who does not reach the Huangshi Fort does not take a true visit to Zhangjiajie." Round-trip cable cars are included in the trip.

In the afternoon, our tour of Zhangjiajie will include the Golden Whip Stream, Golden Whip Rock, Hawk Protecting the Whip, Purple Grass Pool, the Lovers Peaks, the Jumping Fish Pool, amongst other breathtaking sites. Golden Whip Stream is about 7.5 kilometers (about 4.7 miles) long and is famous for its clean waters, steep cliffs, and green mountains. Afterward, drive back to the hotel.

Day 8 Zhangjiajie

Today after check-out,  drive to visit the fascinating Baofeng Lake. You will take a leisurely boat ride on the lake and enjoy the natural beauty. Then, drive to the famous Tianmen Mountain (cable car included) and experience the exciting walk on the world's longest glass-bridge. You will also visit the renowned Tianmen Hole, a natural sinkhole with a height of 131.5m and a width of 50m, and an extraordinary sight to behold. The cable car service is included for both trips up and down the mountain. Lunch will be a delicious Chinese meal during the tour. Afterward, drive to check-in at the hotel in the downtown core.

Day 9 Zhangjiajie-Fenghuang

Meals: Buffet Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

This morning, continue on your trip westwards to the Fenghuang Ancient Town (it takes around 4 hours by vehicle). The town was built in 1704 and has 300 years of history. The tour will explore the must-see sites of the town such as the Tuojiang River, gate towers, former residences, ancestral halls, and the Hongqiao Wind and Rain Bridge. You can also enjoy the stunning night views of the ancient town. Overnight at Fenghuang.

Day 10 Fenghuang-Zhangjiajie-Shanghai (by air)

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

After breakfast, we explore the fascinating  Aizhai Road, built in 1936, which connects Sichuan and Hunan provinces. It is 6 km long,  and slopes at 70-90 degrees. There are 13 big turns on the road.  It is now considered one of the most beautiful roads in China. Another wonder is the spectacular Aizhai Bridge. It is designed for both transportation and sightseeing, with 4 traffic lanes and a maximum speed of 80km/h. It spans a total length of 1176 meters, is one of the most famous hanging bridges in the world. Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal during the trip.

Afterward, drive to the airport in Zhangjiajie and take the night flight to the financial center of China, Shanghai. Once there, be picked up and transfer to the hotel.

Day 11 Shanghai

Activities: Night Cruise on the Huangpu River.

After enjoying breakfast, start your full-day tour exploring the metropolis. First, stroll around The Bund, a famous waterfront area with 52 various buildings of different architectural styles. You can enjoy the beautiful skyline of the city. Next, drive to the famous Yu Garden, which is the most famous private garden in Shanghai built in 1559 A.D. You will then explore the bustling Shanghai Old Town, with its fantastic examples of Qing Dynasty style architecture.

Lunch will be authentic Shanghai cuisine at the famous and exquisitely designed Xianqiangfang Restaurant.

This afternoon, visit the famous Shanghai Museum, considered one of the top museums in China, which features the large collection of bronze artifacts. Then, stroll around the famous Nanjing Road, considered to be the most popular pedestrian street in Shanghai. Next, is the beautiful Jade Buddha Temple, one of the most popular Buddhist temples in Shanghai. You can see the graceful and exquisite reclining Jade Buddha. Xintiandi is next on the tour and the newest tourist destination in Shanghai. The area is a collection of stone houses renovated into the trendy boutiques, bars, and restaurants.

Tonight, you will take a leisurely night cruise on the Huangpu River and enjoy the stunning night scenery of the metropolis.

Day 12 Shanghai-Departure

Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch

This morning, drive to the new landmark of the city, the Shanghai World Financial Center. You will take a high-speed elevator up to the 474m (the 100th Floor) observation hall where you can get a great panoramic views of the metropolis. Then you will also visit Shanghai History Exhibition Center on the ground floor and learn about the history and development of old Shanghai. After that, drive around Lujiazui Financial Zone, considered to be the “Wall Street of China” as many international banks and financial organizations gathered here. Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.

This afternoon, drive to take the maglev train ride (one-way around 7 minutes) to Shanghai Pudong International Airport for your departing flight (We suggest you book a flight departing after 4:00 pm). Thus, the end of this memorable and extraordinary tour through China.
