We specially selected the Jinshanling and Gubeikou sections which provide you with the chance to explore the more remote beauty of the Great Wall of these sections. It takes around 4 hours to hike this section.

Jinshanling is the name given to the wall situated on the Jinshan Mountains. It's the earliest section, built in the 6th Century but most of what you see now dates from the Ming Dynasty. The walkway along the top is paved with square bricks providing a level surface. Poems and tablet writings can be found here, left from the time General Qi Jiguang directed the construction of this section of the Great Wall.  Some of the towers were storerooms for food, hay, and weapons. In 1378 (the 11th year of Emperor Hongwu’s reign in the Ming Dynasty), General Xu Da ordered this section of the Great Wall rebuilt. Jinshanling has probably seen more battles than any other parts of the Great wall, including some of the most famous in Chinese history.

This section offers arguably the finest hiking anywhere on the Great Wall. It has photo-ops at every turn, with over 15 watch-towers, and steep gradients that give constantly changing perspectives and wide, panoramic views. There are a fascinating array of watch-towers here. This section of the Great Wall all is remote, with stunning natural beauty surroundings.

A lunch with served with snacks, water, and fruit during the hike, as there is no restaurant in the vacinity.
