Chongqing Overview

Trumpeted as being one of the world's most thriving metropolitan areas in the world, Chongqing ranks as one of China's most thriving cities.

It oozes for miles along the famous Yangzi River, a clear sign of a city booming in development.

With the same token, the new sprawl has eclipsed its once great remains.

Chongqing's former riches can be traced all the way back to the Ba kingdom, and, the city itself was once the true capital of China during WWII.

Today, there are over 30 million people in its township and the Chongqing city itself has 13 million inhabitants. It is the people of Chongqing that give it a certain je ne sais quoi.

The city pulse is nothing quite anything else you've experienced and the people are among the most inviting in China.

As per the Dazu Carvings, they are near the steep hillsides close to Chongqing in Dazu County. They show an unbelievable series of five rock clusters and carvings dating back from the 9th to 13th centuries.

The collection features the rock carvings in Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan, and Shizhuanshan, all which exemplify superlative artistic achievement while demonstrating the most exquisite skills.
