“Zha Xi De Le!” Welcome to the extraordinary land of Tibet. With an average altitude of 4000 m, Tibet is considered the "Roof of the World". It covers around 120 million sq.km, which takes up to 1/8 of the territory of China. It offers the fascinating natural views including the world-famous Himalayas mountain range, lakes, plateaus as well as the friendly Tibetan people. This 4-day tour will take you to experience the highlights of Tibet.
Our local guide will greet you at Lhasa Airport and send you to the hotel. The rest of day, free at your leisure and have a good rest to acclimatize to the high altitude in Lhasa.

Day 2, Lhasa

Today, start your full-day tour in the capital city Lhasa. First, stop at Lhasa's world-renowned landmark- Potala Palace. It was designated a World Heritage Site in 1994 by UNESCO. The complex consists of a palace, temples, and gardens. The splendor of the Potala Palace is an excellent example of the Tibetan architectural style. The complex combines the skills of the Han, Mongolian and Man nationalities. The main structures are divided into 2 sections, The White Palace and the Red Palace. The palace is 13-storeys outside. The palace was originally built by Sontzen Gampo, the king of the Tubo Kingdom, for his marriage to Princess Bhrikuti Devi (from Nepal) and Princess Wencheng (of the Tang Empire).
Next, visit the most revered religious structure in Tibet- Jokhang Temple which was built in 647 A.D. during the Tang Dynasty by the king of Tibet to commemorate his queen. It features the perfect combination of the architecture styles of Tibet, Tang Dynasty, Nepal and India. With a history of 1300-yrs-old, the temple is extremely important in Tibetan Buddhism. It’s the most splendid and best preserved architectural example of ancient Tubo Kingdom in Tibet.
Then, visit the bustling Barkhor Street. Enjoy a leisurely stroll on this wonderful street, which features many traditional Tibetan handicrafts.
Tonight, we will arrange an authentic Tibetan meal for you as the welcome dinner.
Day 3, Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Lhasa
Activity: Walking along Yamdruktso Lake (around 1-2 hours)

After breakfast, you will drive out of Lhasa to Shannan and visit the well-known Yamdrok Lake. It is considered to be one of the three most important holy lakes in Tibet. It is located in Langkazi County, around 70 km away, southwest of Lhasa. With an area of 675 sq.km, it is the largest inland lake on the northern section of the Himalayan mountains in China. The lake is an incredible hue of blue and offers stunning natural beauty. You will take a walking tour along the lake for 1-2 hours. After that, drive back to Lhasa, to visit a local Tibetan family and learn about their lives.
Day 4, Lhasa-departure
Meals: Buffet breakfast, Chinese Lunch
This morning, continue on to visit the fascinatingNorbulingka, the largest garden in Lhasa, which was first built in 1755. This palace complex is a wonderful example of a traditional Tibetan-style garden. It was used as the summer residence for successive Dalai Lamas. Afterward, drive to the airport for your departure flight. End your amazing exploration of Tibet.
