Because of its natural beauty, Guilin was the first city in China to develop an economy for tourism in 1949.
And without question Guilin is the best city in South China for you to uncover remote rural living.
Its picturesque natural essence is a dreamland for photographers; and with tourism being its prime industry, the city is filled with a high number of English-speaking locals.
And like all destinations, there are classic standout attractions. From coasting down the Li River to Yangshuo to visiting the legendary Longsheng rice terraces, we’re absolutely certain your time spent in Guilin will be an unforgettable one.
The best time to visit is from April to October when the climate is perfect and when its natural beauty glows brightest.
Welcome to day 1 of your Guilin remote village tour. We start off by easing you in, meeting you upon your arrival at the airport where our English-speaking tour guide will greet you and escort you to your hotel.
Feel free to ask your tour guide any questions about the trip. We know that you may be tired from jet lag, so after checking in, you'll have the rest of the day to do as you want.
It's day 2 of your Guilin remote village tour and it starts soon after breakfast, we will take a 2.5 hour car ride to the Longsheng County.
Once there, we will tour around the gorgeous Longji Terraced Rice Field, a masterpiece creation of both Mother Nature and human's instinct of self-preservation.
From there your Guilin remote village tour guide will take you down to appreciate local living.
Let's envelope ourselves in architecture, garments and cultural energy at the Zhuang(Ping’an Village) & Yao (Huangluo Village) Minority Village.
Both traditional singing and dancing performances within Huangluo Village are always entertaining.
It's lunch time. Today, we will be served a delicious local Chinese meal and tonight, we stay at local clean hotel in Longsheng.
It's day 3 of your Guilin remote village tour and today it starts bright and early in the peaceful morning after much needed breakfast.
We will continue our tour onwards to the well-preserved Dong Minority Village, Sanjiang. Located at the border of Hunan, Guizhou and Guangxi provinces, Sanjiang features a traditional and well-preserved wooden residence area, with distinct and strong Dong Minority influence.
Your tour guide will take you to see the major highlights; such as, the Sanjiang Drum Tower and Chengyang Rain and Wind Bridge.

After the trip we head back to Guilin.
After breakfast, your Guilin remote village tour guide will drive you towards the Li River, where you will get to experience the Li River Cruise.
The Li River Cruise is the best way to see incredible karst landforms and natural vistas. The 4-hour cruise ride will take you along the picturesque Li River.
Lunch is served on-board before arriving at Yangshuo, a small town set in lush rice paddies and surrounded by meandering rivers and limestone peaks.
Once we get to Yangshuo, your tour guide will take you on a cycling adventure, showcasing the Yangshuo countryside, catching the famous Moon Hill silhouette.
From here we will take a stroll along Yangshuo West Street, the perfect spot to buy souvenirs for your family.
We spend the night at Yangshuo.
Welcome to day 5 of your Guilin remote village tour, on this morning, we drive to the ancient town Xingping, a special place along the Li River.
Xingping features well-preserved traditional residences, big old banyan trees, flagging streets and more.
It is often considered to be the most beautiful ancient town on Li River.
From there we drive to visit the ancient Jiuxian Village. Located at the bank of the fascinating Yulong River it was established during the Tang Dynasty, and has about 1400 years of history.
The village features well-preserved residences, decked with black brick and gray tile, horse-head walls, marble door frames and more.
Your tour guide will then take you to Daxu Ancient Town, one of the Top 4 ancient Xu Towns in Guangxi, which was originally built in 200A.D.
The ancient flagging streets extend along the Li River for approximately 2 km, both sides are scattered with well-preserved local typical residence.
Lunch will be served, featuring a savoury local Chinese meal.
In the afternoon we visit more of Daxu until the evening where we drive back to your hotel in Guilin.
It's day 6 of your Guilin remote village tour, today after breakfast, we will see the must-visit attractions in Guilin.
First stop is the iconic Elephant Trunk Hill. Elevated at 200m, Elephant Truck Hill rises 55m above water surface and measures 108m in length and 100m in width.
We then head over to see the breathtaking karst landforms of Reed Flute Cave, also known as a "the Palace of Natural Arts".
After we visit the Reed Flue Cave, we'll visit the local fresh water pearl store, prepare our Guilin goodbye, and head back to the airport for your departure flight.
