As a provincial capital, Chengdu is a major city in western China. It has a history of 2000 years and due to the fertile Chengdu Plain where Chengdu is situated, it is often known as the Country of Heaven or the Land of Abundance.
Our tour of Chengdu will start off with an adventure with pandas, a must-have experience on any travelers bucket list. Sublime China will drive you to the suburb of Chengdu where the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center is located. It's interesting to note that all pandas in the world are loaned out by China, all under the agreement that all newborns are returned back to the homeland to help spread the gene pool. At the Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center, we'll take an exciting trip inside and say hello to the cute Giant Pandas. Here is where we'll get to boost our panda IQ and learn about their living habits, their environment, and what kind of initiatives China has done to help save the Giant Panda.
We'll then return to Chengdu where we'll enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Broad and Narrow Alleys where you can discover the city’s past. will also enjoy
Thereafter we will make time for tea and enjoy tasting tea at a local favorite tea house. The local people in Chengdu lead a laid-back life and spend a lot of time drinking tea and playing Mahjong. If you don't know already how to play, we'll give you a chance to learn and play Mahjong with the locals. At night, we plan to taste a special hot pot, another favorite among the local people for dinner -- so yummy.

In the morning, Sublime China takes the tour of Chengdu to Leshan which is about 2 hours drive away from Chengdu. Leshan is famous for being home to a large Buddha sculpture carved out from a cliff, also known as Leshan Giant Buddha. Built in Tang Dynasty, the Buddha statue is 71m high. It's a stunning work of art. The size alone is surreal. After appreciating the Leshan Giant Buddha, we visit the Buddhist temple nearby.
We then drive to Mt. Emei in Emeishan City. Mt. Emei is one of the 4 great Buddhist Mountains in China. The other three are Mt. Wutai, Mt. Putuo and Mt. Jiuhua. The 4 mountains represent for 4 well-respected bodhisattvas. Mt. Emei is the bodhimaṇḍa of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, Mt. Wutai Manjusri Bodhisattva, Mt. Putuo Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Mt. Jiuhua Kshitigarbha Bodhisattva. Mt. Emei has around 76 buddhist temples and most of them are on the top of the mountain.
