Tour Schedule by Day

Day 1 Beijing

Meals: Lunch

Your Beijing tour starts off when Sublime China picks you up at your hotel between 7:30 am and 8:30 am. We then drive over to the Beijing Zoo where we get to meet the lovely Giant Pandas. The Panda Zoo visit takes 40 minutes or so. The Giant Pandas are known as a national treasure in China. Every panda in the world is loaned out by the country under the agreement that all new borns are returned to help spread the gene pool. The Giant Panda was one of the five Fuwa mascots of the Beijing Olympics.

We then arrange 45 minutes to take pictures at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. If you are interested in the inner structure of the stadiums, the tour guide will help you buy the tickets, and then you are able to enter in the stadiums for a visit yourself.

Thereafter the tour takes you through the largest Lama Temple of Beijing, Yonghe Temple, for a one hour tour around the Tibet style Buddhism temple. The temple is more like an imperial palace, with yellow gilded tiles and red walls enclosing the whole architectural complex. It harmoniously blends the architectural styles of the Han, Man, Mongolian and Tibetan ethnic groups. The Lama Temple tour finishes at about 11:00 -- the perfect time for a snack.

From here we arrange to have a special lunch with the locals in a traditional Beijing resident house. We then visit the old Beijing lanes by taking rickshaws where the Hutong tour lasts for about 2 hours.

Sublime China then drives you to the Jingshan Park. It is an ancient imperial garden that lies to the east of Beihai Park. The mid-summit of Jingshan is the highest point in Beijing. Looking from the peak, you are able to soak in a full and clear view of the Forbidden City. The Jingshan park visit takes about 40 minutes. We also arrange for a short visit to a China Silk House to appreciate one of Chinese traditional handicraft, then head back to your hotel.
