Welcome to day 2 of your cultural heritage tour.

Tiananmen Square was where Mao Zedong claimed the founding of the People's Republic of China back in October 1, 1949, it features many noteworthy attractions.

Inside there is the National Museum, a newly built museum -- the largest in China.

The museum is filled with iconic and ancient cultural relics. From here your cultural heritage tour makes way to the Forbidden City, an ancient palace that was used by many historical dynasties.

It was constructed from 1406 to 1420, it's ultimately a palace complex consisting of 980 buildings, covering 72 ha (over 180 acres).

The palace complex is the embodiment of classical Chinese palatial architecture, which has influenced architectural developments across East Asia.

Today, it's now a museum, pulling in over 14.6-million visitors a year, making it the most visited art museum in the world.

After leaving the Forbidden City, the cultural heritage tour drifts over to Jinshan Park, a 23-acre imperial park, formerly owned by the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Interestingly enough, the Chongzhen Emperor, the last ruler of the Ming dynasty, hung himself from a tree in Jingshan in 1644 after Beijing was lost to the rebel forces of Li Zicheng.

When standing on top of the park, you'll find a beautiful view of the Forbidden City -- stunning.

After the tour of Jinshan Park, we head for lunch.

In the afternoon, we look to tour a uniquely special side of Beijing known as, the Hutongs.

The Hutongs are a residential community made up of narrow alleys and streets found in Northern China.

This part of the tour gives you a glimpse into local living in a China treasure. From here, we visit a local family, mingle and then head for dinner.

After eating dinner, your cultural heritage tour takes you to the Peking Opera Show.

Peking Opera is a Chinese traditional art performance that fuses music, vocals, mime, dance and acrobatics.

The wall was built with slabs of stone and is crenelated on both sides with bricks.

The wall provides better protection and wards off attacks with Juyongguan in the west and Gubeikou in the east.
