Zhongshan (also known as "Xiangshan" in ancient Chinese) was renamed in honor of Sun Yat-sen, who was born in the nearby Cuiheng village in 1866. Considered the father of modern China, the city is famous because of Sun Yat-sen. The tour explores a variety of historical sites relating to Sun Yat-sen.
In the morning, you will be met at your hotel indowntown Guangzhou by your English-speaking guide. Then, you will be driven approx. 1.5 hours to the marvelous city of Zhongshan.
First on the itinerary, is a visit to the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, where the memorial museum is located. This is a major tourist destination and includes Sun Yat-sen's former residence, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, the Tsuiheng residential display, the Tsuiheng agricultural exhibition area, and the Zhongshan tripod amongst others.
Next, you will be driven to the beautiful Zhongshan Zhanyuan Garden. The garden was designed by more than a hundred master craftsmen from Suzhou, and thus resembles the world-famous "Gardens in Suzhou" in Jiangsu province. It is known as the largest private garden in the area.
You will be driven to a local restaurant to enjoy your lunch.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Zhongshan Commercial and Cultural Museum. Consisting of three floors with over 400 relics, the exhibition displays commercial aspects and culture during the end of Qing Dynasty. The museum also showcases the abundant history of China’s commercial culture.
Afterward, you will visit the extradinary Zhongshan Studios. This film and television studio is considered on of the top 10 studios in China, and definitely a must-see attraction inZhongshan.
Before being driven back to Guangzhou, you will take a walk down the Sun Wen Xi Road. This is an amazing pedestrian street, where visiors get a slice of local culture and life.
Finally, you will be driven back to Guangzhou, ending your wonderful day-trip to Zhongshan.
