After enjoying your breakfast, you will be met by your English-speaking guide in your hotel lobby. Then, you will be picked up and driven by your private vehicle and Chinese-speaking driver to explore the magical Xining and surrounding area.
After approximately a 35 kilometer drive, you will arrive at the famous Kumbum Monastery (Ta'er Monastery). This is an important monastery, and second only to the Lhasa monastery in Tibet. It is also one of the two most important Buddhist gompas (monasteries) outside the Tibetan Administrative Area. Kumbum Monastery houses many precious sculptures, statues, and religious artifacts of important Tibetan cultural significance.
Today’s delicious Chinese lunch is served at local restaurant. It takes around 40 to 50 minutes.
In the afternoon, you will be driven to Qinhai Lake, which is the largest salt-water lake in China. Approximately a 3-hour drive, the breathtaking Qinhai Lake is a popular tourist destination in the summer because of the enjoyable climate and beautiful landscape. Some of the renowned sites at this attraction include Wonderful Hill of the Sea Heart, Sand Island, and Bird Island.
After around 2 hours’ exploring, you will be driven back to downtown Xining.
