Located at the south end of the world-famous Grand Canal, Hangzhou is considered one of the most beautiful cities in China. Grand Canal is the longest and largest ancient canal in the world. It was considered one of the three most important public works projects in ancient China. It was implemented by the ordinary citizens, which still functions today. With a history spanning 2500 years and has a total length of 1,797 km. It begins from Hangzhou in the south, and ends in Beijing in the north, passing by Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hebei Province and Tianjin, Beijing, connecting Haihe River, Yellow River, Huaihe River, Yangtze River, and Qiantang River. As a whole, which made a tremendous influence on the economy, and culture between the south and north of China. It made a significant impact on the development in the south of the Yangtze River. In 2014, Grand Canal was inscribed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO and became No.46 World Heritage Unit in China.
You will take the leisurely cruise from Wulingmen Pier to Gongchenqiao Bridge and enjoy the city view on both sides. Once there, you will visit the famous Grand Canal Museum where you can get to know more knowledge about the Grand Canal. After that, stroll around the Qiaoxi Historical Street which features the ancient buildings of the water town in the South of Yangtze River.
Lunch will be a delicious local Chinese meal.
In the afternoon, drive to visit the fascinating Xixi National Park. With a total area of 11.5 sq.km, this beautiful park combines the urban, natural beauty, and culture together. You can enjoy the fascinating scenery as well as the wildlife. You will take a leisurely rowboat ride to explore the park and relax there. In addition, each year the traditional Dragon Boat Racing will be held during the Dragon Boat Festival. It’s very interesting event to watch. You will spend around 2.5 hours for the highlighted sites. After the tour, drive back to your hotel in Hangzhou and end the wonderful day.
