Thereafter, we whisk you away to Prince Gong’s Mansion, the largest palace in the Qing Dynasty. It was used as the private house of Heshen and Yonglin, and in 1851 Prince Gong became the owner, from whom it got its name nowadays. Prince Gong’s Mansion witnessed the history of the Qing Dynasty from the dynasty’s peak and through its decline; the residence holds rich historical and cultural information. After breakfast, you will visit Tiananmen Square, the biggest city square in the world. Covering 440,000 square meters, it has witnessed many important historical events. The area offers an array of many interesting attractions like the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the National Museum of China, and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. It was in Tiananmen Square where Mao Zedong claimed the founding of the People's Republic of China on October 1, 1949. After we tour the square, Sublime China then pays a visit to the Forbidden City, one of the five most famous palaces in the world. This is where 24 emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties lived and ruled for over 500 years. In the afternoon you will visit the Temple of Heaven where emperors conducted religious rituals and prayed for good harvests in the Qing and Ming dynasties.
