As one of the most beautiful counties in China, Wuyuan located at the border of Jiangxi and Anhui province. The breathtaking views of the “Sea of Wildflowers” in spring and golden autumn, are the best times to travel to this magical place.
In the morning, you will arrange your own transportation from your hotel to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. You will then board the bullet train from Shanghai to Wuyuan (G1509, DEP 08:42am ARR 12:49pm, booked on your own).
Our local tour guide and driver are waiting at the Wuyuan Railway Station for your arrival. You will then be driven to a local downtown restaurant to have a delicious Chinese lunch.
In the afternoon, drive to visit Huangling (cable car included), known as the “Village Hanging on a Cliff”. Hundreds of traditional dwellings of the Hui-style are located on the slope of the mountain. Autumn is the best time to visit the village.
Next on the tour is Xiaoqi Village, another hidden “stunning pearl” in Wuyuan. It is considered the most important village for Chinese tea culture. Xiaoqi features exquisitely preserved residences from the Qing dynasty, winding cobbled streets, ancient camphor trees, exquisite carvings, exceptional traditional architecture, not to mention the tranquil scenery. Afterward, you will be driven to check into your hotel in Wuyuan.

Day 2 Wuyuan-Shanghai (By bulletin train)

Early this morning, continue on to Sixiyan Village, located in the north of Wuyuan. It was constructed in 1199 A.D. during the South Song Dynasty. The early inhabitants of Sixiyan Village were primarily involved in the trade of wood, tea, and salt in Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Hunan, and Guangxi. At present, among all the 156 historical buildings in the village, 5 buildings were built in the Ming Dynasty and 80 buildings were constructed during the Qing Dynasty. Congting Hall, Mingxun Hall, and Yuqing Hall are the most famous sites in the village.
Likeng, an ancient village built mainly by members of the Li family. Located 12 km away from downtown Wuyuan, over 100 governors, prominent businessmen, and other notable people were born here from the Song to Qing dynasties. Surrounded by the hills, it features fascinating views, the well-preserved architecture from the Ming and Qing dynasties, courtyards by the riverside, intersecting waterways, and a dozen bridges. Likeng is a lovely, quaint must-see attraction.
After the tour, drive to the railway station for the return bullet train to Shanghai (G1507 DEP 2:14 pm ARR 5:56 pm, booked on your own). Thus, the end of the memorable and wonderful tour of Wuyuan.
