Your 14-day tour of China starts when you arrive at Shanghai Pudong International Airport where one of our Sublime China English speaking guides will meet you and escort you to the hotel.

Widely known as the Oriental Paris, Shanghai is a modern megacity and is a top destination for foreign travelers and a major transportation hub. It is the most populous city in China with over 24.15 million people.
Today's tour starts off in the morning, where Sublime China will escort you to the Jade Buddha Temple. This temple is about 120 years old, and it is home to two priceless jade Buddha statues, hence the name.
Hereafter, we will make our way to the Shanghai Museum where we'll catch the museum of ancient Chinese art, located on the People's Square in the Huangpu District of Shanghai, China.
Rebuilt at its current location in 1996, it is considered one of China's first world-class modern museums.
It has one of the largest collections of artifacts including bronze, ceramics, ancient coins & seals, antique furniture, and ethnic costumes.
Time flies at the Shanghai Museum and our visitors often spend 1 hour or 2 exploring without feeling bored -- it's a legendary visit and a must add to your China bucket list.
Following this, the tour guide will lead you to the old town of Shanghai to visit the famous Yuyuan Garden.
It is a representative garden style architectural complex built some 450 years ago and contains many interesting elements like: ponds with swimming fish and waving lotus flowers, delicate carvings on windows, walls, and tiles, oddly-shaped rockeries, pavilions, corridors, and pillars.
We then look to Yuyuan, at the top of the walls enclosing the compound, lie vivid sculptures of powerful dragons -- supremely impressive.
After exploring the garden, we will have some time to walk along Shanghai Old Street, which is lined with many vendors where you can do some shopping for souvenirs.
The tour then drives you through the former French Concession where we'll discover the interesting corners in Shanghai Xintiandi.
Xintiandi is now one of the trendiest places in Shanghai with many shops, bars, and restaurants, but here you can also see Shanghai’s traditional architecture, the Shikumen brick houses.
The tour then takes you to the Bund, which is translated as "Outer Beach."
The Bund is a treasured landmark in Shanghai and it's famous for its beautiful view of the modern skyscrapers of Lujiazui in the Pudong District.
Its skyline features many historic buildings, which once served as banks and trading houses from many Western countries in the colonial era. Thereafter we make our way to onboard a magical evening river cruise along the Huangpu River to take in the city’s enchanting night views.

In the morning, Sublime escorts you to visit Zhujiajiao, a charming Venice-like little town with old buildings & bridges dating back to Ming and Qing Dynasties.
A man-made canal meanders through the town and we will take a small boat on the canal to enjoy the views of the old houses, passersby and old bridges.
After the tour, we transfer you to the airport. From here will take a flight to Yichang, where the upstream Yangtze River Cruise starts.
When we are in Yichang, we drift our way into dinner. Thereafter we are then safely dropped off at the pier to board the long-awaited cruise ship -- luxury and relaxation beckons.

After waking up and enjoying breakfast, we can get back to the deck to enjoy the views along both banks of Yangtze River. The ship will pass through the Xiling Gorge today.
Do as you please, soak in the sun or mingle with others until lunch. In the afternoon the tour will take a shore excursion through the Three Gorges Dam, one of the largest hydroelectric dams in the world.
It is 2,335m long and the top of the dam is 185m above sea level. Its construction took around 15 years and led to a massive relocation of millions of residents to new settlements. By the end of 2015, it had generated around 897 TWh of electricity. Get back to the cruise and you will see the ship passing through the 5-level ship lock.

Today the ship will pass through the other two gorges: Wu Gorge and Qutang Gorge. And you will take a tour to the Lesser Three Gorges, Shennong Stream or Stream of Goddess. You will take a boat along the stream and enjoy the natural views. After which, you can get back to the ship, relax and have free time.

Enjoy your breakfast on the cruise and take a shore excursion to the Shibao Pagoda, an ancient 12-story wooden temple alongside the river.
The tall pagoda is the most interesting part of the Shibaozhai Temple, consisting of the lower section featuring a nine-story edifice that abuts the rock outcropping and the upper section sitting on top of the outcropping where the temples reside.
Old folklore says the higher you climb up the Shibaozhai pagoda stairs, the higher the probabilities your wish will come true.
After visiting the Shibao Pagoda, you can go back to enjoy the cruise ship and relax.

After buffet breakfast, we head from the pier to Dazu County and visit the impressive Dazu Buddhist rock carvings, which date back to as early as the 7th century BC.
It is also listed as a World Heritage Site, an official landmark in the eyes of the United Nations.
The Dazu Buddhist rock carvings contain around 50000 statues. Some are inside cave shrines and many are rock sculptures carved into rock faces.
At night, you will enjoy Chinese style hot pot for dinner. The local people in Chongqing are fairly fond of this kind of food.

In the morning, the tour will take you through one of the Three Gorges Museum to learn more about the Three Gorges Dam project, the world's largest power station. Thereafter we will try an exciting local activity, which is to cross the Yangtze River by cable car.
The cable car takes people from one side of the Yangtze River to the other side in 4 minutes and is a popular transportation means for local residents.
Afterwards we will check out Chongqing’s landmark architecture: the Grand Hall of People and then spend some time exploring Ciqikou Ancient Town. After the tour, we will be driven to the airport for the flight to Xi'an.
Upon arriving at Xi'an, we escort you to your hotel.

Xi'an is one of the four great ancient capitals of China. It served as the capital city for 13 dynasties. Thus it has a very profound history. Your tour of Xi'an starts this morning, Sublime China will take you to the world-renowned Terracotta Army.
The army contains around 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses, all life-sized. They were built by Emperor Qin Shihuang, the first emperor of Qin Dynasty, to protect him in the afterlife -- remarkable works of funerary art admired on the global stage.
In the afternoon, the tour will travel back to the city center and spend some time on the 600-year-old and well-protected City Wall. The city wall was built in Ming Dynasty. The perimeter of the wall is around 13km.
From here we travel to the inner city and visit the Bell and Drum Towers. As their name suggest, inside the Bell Tower, there is a bell which in the past was stricken at dawn.
And inside the Drum Tower, there is a drum which was beaten at sunset to indicate the start and end of the day.
We walk through the Drum Tower and you will reach the biggest Muslim Quarter in Xi'an, also known as Muslim Street.
Here is the street where you can taste varieties of local snacks and also watch an entertaining Shadow Puppet Show.
At night, the tour will enjoy a beautiful singing and dancing performance at the Tang Dynasty Show -- putting the cherry on top of a magical evening.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast at the hotel, the tour will guide to the Shaanxi History Museum, which displays a lot of ancient artifacts and is a good place to learn about Xi'an’s history.
Later on, the tour will move to the Tomb of Emperor Jing of the Han Dynasty. The tomb contains more than 40,000 pottery figures, smaller in size, compared to the Qin Dynasty terracotta warriors -- beautiful sculptures that exhibit how life like was back then.
From here we escort you to the railway station and travel to Beijing by super high-speed train. When you arrive in Beijing, we will take you to the hotel.

Today the tour will guide you through the city area of Beijing, starting with Tiananmen Square, a major meeting place for many political events and where Mao Zedong claimed the People's Republic of China in October 1, 1949.
The square features a lot of important landmarks and buildings and here is where we will visit the National Museum of China which is located on the square.
The museum is home to a lot of precious artifacts, rare exhibits only found in China.
Afterward, we walk to the imposing Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum.
It was home to 24 emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties for more than 500 years. Today it's the most visited art museum in the world.
After exploring through the Forbidden City, we will embark in a human-powered rickshaw which takes you through the small alleys in the old town of Beijing.
You will have a chance to visit a local family living in a typical courtyard home.
At night, you will have Beijing roast duck dinner at Shichahai Quanjude Restaurant.
The restaurant also offers a series of fascinating traditional performances such as Beijing Opera during dinner time.

Today will kick off with an adventure to the magnificent Great Wall in Mutianyu.
From the city center of Beijing, it is approximately 2 hours drive to the wall.
We will ascend and descend the wall by cable car and spend some time walking on the wall, passing through the various watch towers and taking good pictures.
After that, we will be driven to visit one of the 13 tombs of the Ming Dynasty emperors: Changling Tomb.
It is the final resting place for Emperor Yongle, the third emperor of Ming Dynasty. Here we will discover and unlock the mysteries of the Sacred Road leading to the tomb.
Thereafter we travel back to the city center, and along the way stop at the Olympic Park to see the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube. The innovative design is impressive a modern day landmark designed for the 2008 Olympic games.

Today we tackle the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven and Prince Gong’s Mansion. The Summer Palace was built by Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty in 1764 to celebrate his mother’s 60th birthday.
It was firstly named as Qingyi Garden and served as an imperial garden for the royal family. At the end of the second Opium War, it was partly destroyed by the British and French Armies.
Later, Empress Dowager Cixi reconstructed it and gave it the current name.
Temple of Heaven was built by Emperor Yongle of Ming Dynasty in 1420. It served as a ritual site to hold sacrificing ceremonies.
Every two years, emperors of Ming and Qing Dynasties will hold such a ceremony to offer respect to the Heaven and pray for a good harvest. Prince Gong’s Mansion, as its name suggests, once belonged to Prince Gong of Qing Dynasty.
The mansion was originally built in 1777 for He Shen, a high-ranking official favored by Emperor Qianlong. It was given the current name after Prince Gong inhabited it.
